At Virginia Beach event, Global Traffic Technologies is introducing new Regional Manager Adam Gill and discussing Priority Control as a Service
Attendees to the Virginia Fire Rescue Conference in February are invited to meet new Global Traffic Technologies (GTT) Mid-Atlantic Region Manager Adam Gill and the GTT Virginia team to discuss the latest developments in Emergency Vehicle Preemption (EVP) technology and learn how Opticom EVP could quickly and easily benefit their communities.
The Virginia Fire Rescue Conference is organized by the Virginia Fire Chiefs Association, and takes place at the Virginia Beach Conference Center, February 20-24. It is designed to offer educational and networking opportunities for fire and rescue personnel, including more than 70 learning sessions, alongside an exhibition of industry-specific products and services.
GTT’s Opticom EVP solutions enable emergency vehicles to safely navigate intersections by communicating to the traffic signals in advance of their arrival to request priority. Preemption technology has been shown to improve response times by up to 25 percent and reduce intersection crash rates by up to 70 percent, according to Federal Highway Administration studies. Gill explains that these smart city technology solutions are now within reach of even more communities thanks to the emergence of Opticom PCaaS – Priority Control as a Service.
“PCaaS is a subscription offering, which means that this critical, life-saving technology is now within financial reach of almost any agencies,” Gill says. “GTT manages all aspects of the installation and ongoing maintenance of the system. The budgetary impact is reduced dramatically – there’s no capital investment required, only a fixed fee each year.”
“Rollouts of this technology could sometimes take years, but with PCaaS, fire departments now have the ability to equip all roadways and vehicles at once, equating to a reduction in response times, safer intersections, and the ability to offer enhanced services to the community right away.”
