Global Traffic Technologies LLC’s Opticom™ Analytics platform has been selected as an Innovation Award finalist at the EMS World 2017 Expo, which runs October 16-19 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
EMS World Expo is the official event of EMS World magazine, and is hosted in partnership with the National Association of Emergency Medical Technicians. This year will see the 29th edition of the conference and exhibition, with more than 5,500 professionals from 45 countries slated to participate.
Global Traffic Technologies (GTT) is a world leader in priority control and traffic sensing systems, with thousands of implementations of its acclaimed Opticom Emergency Vehicle Preemption (EVP) solutions installed internationally. Opticom EVP allows emergency vehicles to move through intersections swiftly and safely by requesting a green light ahead of their arrival.
Opticom Analytics is a web-based platform which can help provide first responders with details about preemption system performance by using GPS data collected from emergency vehicles.
GTT Product Manager Chad Mack explains. “Bottlenecks and intersection conflicts can make responding to an emergency more dangerous and slow,” he says. “Emergency Vehicle Preemption can help to speed up responses and minimize risks, but many departments don’t have the data to justify the value of this valuable technology. Opticom Analytics can help departments assess intersection performance, reveal problem areas and make corrections to provide a faster, safer emergency response.”
The platform compiles data uploaded from vehicle equipment and presents the information as a summary and map interface. Users can sort and view performance metrics based on date, speed, travel time, vehicle type, preemption usage and more. Opticom Analytics gives departments the information they need to maximize their preemption system, enabling them to arrive quickly and safely at the scene of an emergency.
The EMS World Innovation Award recognizes companies who have produced innovative new products or products that have seen significant changes in the previous 12 months.
GTT is exhibiting on Booth 2107 at EMS World Expo 2017. Visitors will be able to learn more about GTT, Opticom and Emergency Vehicle Preemption, watch videos showing systems in operation, and ask questions to staff.
