If you’ve heard of ten-codes, you’re probably an emergency responder, work in the trucking industry or you were the envy of the neighborhood kids with your walkie-talkies back in the day. Regardless, you know what it means to say, “10-4.”
“I understand.”
“I’m good.”
“I copy.”
At GTT, we aim to ensure emergency responders arrive on the scene safely and quickly, providing each brave man and woman in the field a chance to say, “10-4,” as many times as possible. That is why we are establishing October 4 (10-4) as National Emergency Vehicle Preemption Day. The purpose of this day is to encourage emergency response agencies to analyze their current methods of responding to scenes faster and with fewer intersection crashes.
So, how can your agency honor this day of awareness? Take a look at what Emergency Vehicle Preemption (EVP) services you currently have in place, and make sure they satisfy the needs of your employees and the community in which they serve. Ask yourself: Are you getting the green light faster? Are you using the latest technologies available? Have you researched government funding available to initiate EVP or augment your existing solutions?
Use #EVPday on social to let us know about your commitment to improving safety in your community.
